Il Bocconcino in Adeje, winner of the 2nd National Tenerife Tropical Fruit Dessert Competition

 

This Wednesday the Il Bocconcino restaurant at the Hotel Royal Hideaway in Adeje (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) has won the second National Tenerife Tropical Fruit Dessert Competition, promoted by the Island Council of Tenerife. Six establishments from all over Spain reached the final of the competition

Paula Salvucci, from the Hotel Royal Hideaway restaurant, Adeje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife), has won the National Tenerife Tropical Fruit Dessert Competition, which has been held this year for the second time. After making the desserts, which had to include, as a minimum, one of the tropical fruits from Tenerife (banana, papaya, avocado, manga, mango, tropical pineapple, passion fruit…), the finalists waited for them to be tasted by the jury made up of the journalists and/or chefs Carme Gasull, Alberto Luchini, Igor Cubillo, Juan Carlos Clemente, Paulo Airaudo y Sergio Humada.

Having reached a decision, victory went to the dessert by Il Bocconcino, which beat the proposals by Epílogo (Tomelloso, Ciudad Real), Nómada (Dénia, Alicante), Citrus del Tancat (Alcanar, Tarragona), Hotel Palacio de Luces (Luces, Asturias) and BonAmb (Jávea, Alicante).

Il Bocconcino takes over from Casa Solla* (Poio, Pontevedra) as the home of the best tropical fruit dessert in Spain.
