"Gueridón de Oro" Award

José Polo, sommelier at the Atrio restaurant, will be taking the San Sebastian Gastronomika award for professionals working the restaurant floor.

José Polo will be receiving the Gastronomika "Gueridón de Oro" Award for the best floor service. Polo, who runs the two-star establishment in Cáceres along with chef Toño Pérez, has now made the prestigious list of prizewinners, taking over from winery owner Maria José López de Heredia.

The Extremadura restaurant's wine cellars is held to be one of the world's most spectacular, with over 40,000 bottles and 2,700 different wines. A selection combining wisdom and good taste, which also made the news this year following a highly publicised robbery.
