2022 Bar of Bars Award

This is the fourth round of an award for the social and gastronomic space which is the bar. This year the winner is La Vermutería Río de Pamplona.

La Vermutería Río de Pamplona, an emblematic outlet in Pamplona's likewise emblematic calle San Nicolás, takes the 2022 Gastronomika Bar of Bars Award. Río, with its flagship "fried egg croquettes" tapa, which has been a feature of its bar food since 2015, takes up the torch from San Sebastián's Txepetxa bar.

La Vermutería Río was established in 1963, when Joaquín Barberena opened what was then known as the Río bar. In 1998, Roberto Recasens and Roberto Irurtzun took over the business when Barberena retired, moved premises, and imposed their loyal contribution, while not forsaking the emblematic fried egg croquette tapa.
