The event will be announcing the winners of the 19th "Oil Chef" competition organised by the Jaén Provincial Council, in its first year at San Sebastian Gastronomika in the wake of "Lo Mejor de la Gastronomía", the forerunner to this event.

The contest, the official name of which is the International “Jaén Paraíso Interior” Award for Cooking with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, sets out to showcase the excellent qualities and properties of extra virgin olive oil in gastronomy, and promote its utilisation in gastronomy as a basic flavour and ingredient of the Mediterranean diet.
